Psychology Australia is a private psychology and counselling clinic directed by Clinical Psychologist, Genevieve Milnes. We are located at 10 Grosvenor Road Mt Lawley, Perth Western Australia. There is ample free and paid parking. The clinic was opened in 2000 in Belmont and was called Belmont Counselling Clinic with three psychologists in attendance. We now operate in the central northern suburb of Mt Lawley, close to Perth city. With the new Medicare rebate available, Psychology Australia psychologists are prepared to see a range of clients.

For those who wish to see a counsellor, prices range from $80-$110, psychologists from $150, Clinical Psychologists from $220. Medicare provides a rebate for those on a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP. Contact Kellie on 08 9227 9796 for inquiries on how you can access our services. About Genevieve Milnes

Genevieve Milnes is a Clinical Psychologist with over twenty years of professional psychological, counselling and psychotherapy experience. Genevieve & Peter Milnes are the owners and directors of Psychology Australia, WA, which employs psychologists and therapists, and supervises trainees.

Genevieve earned a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology (Clinical) from Murdoch University, a Bachelor of Divinity (MCD), a Master of Arts in Counselling (PCGS), and a Bachelor of Education with a major in Music Education. Genevieve combines psychology and counselling with her interest in spirituality. From 1985 Genevieve immersed herself and her family in the Brazilian culture lecturing and counselling in Portuguese and working with the disadvantaged for eight years in drug rehabilitation, orphanage and street children’s endeavours. Genevieve still counsels persons needing help who only speak Brazilian Portuguese, as well as other English-speaking clients.

Additional training in Psychodiagnosis, Forensic Report Writing, Critical Incidents, Clinical Hypnosis, Clinical Pastoral Education, Marriage and Family Counselling, and Educational Psychology add to her portfolio. Genevieve is the National President of Christian Counsellors Association of Australia, and the West-Australian convenor of the newly-forming Christianity and Psychologist Interest Group of the Australian Psychological society.

Genevieve is the co-presenter of a counselling and psychology talkback programme on 98.5fm which can be heard fortnightly on Tuesdays at 10am.

About Peter Milnes

Dr Peter Milnes, historian and author, is co-director of Psychology Australia. He is also a pastoral counsellor and consultant with degrees in theology, history, cross-cultural matters and education. Peter has a Master’s degree from the University of New England in the area of educational administration and a PhD in the history of Mount Margaret and other Aboriginal communities in WA and their interactions with Government Policies. He authored ‘From Myths to Policy: Aboriginal Legislation in Western Australia’ and ‘CIA: Cultural Interaction Analysis’, as well as a multitude of Political and Legal texts for Years 11 and 12. He also conducts Belco Consulting Pty Ltd, a company for educational and cross-cultural endeavours. Peter is a key person for Mt Margaret Mission history and coordinates the historical mission documents gathered from the Schenk family, particularly from his maternal grandfather, Rodolphe Schenk, who started Mt Margaret Mission as a safe haven for Aboriginal people who sought refuge from Government Policy. Peter works between Kalgoorlie and Mt Lawley and is available for consultation or counselling, on request.
